We tested entering both breeds, and for some reason the Cattle Dog choice was just a bit more expensive. While this difference was not significant, the same couldn’t be said for our other dog. He was listed at the rescue as a Boxer/Shepherd, but again, upon maturing, he mostly resembles a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Here the choices become more significant. If we choose to list him as either a Boxer, a Ridgeback, or a Shepherd (German), his monthly premiums increase by 68%, 15%, or 38% respectively over just honestly listing him as ‘Unknown/Mixed’. This seemingly arbitrary pricing based on limited information has us concerned.
